Founder Tested: Living in the Mayhem Performance Midweight Performance Hoodie
When we say Mayhem Performance apparel is built to perform, that standard has to start with us.
Several months ago, before asking customers to put their trust in the Mayhem Performance Midweight Performance Hoodie, I ordered one directly through our website. I wanted to experience the same process our customers experience—from placing the order and receiving the package to actually wearing, training in, and washing the product over time.
Not because I expected to be an unbiased reviewer. I'm the Founder and CEO of Mayhem Performance. Of course I believe in what we're building.
I did it because I wanted to know whether the product lived up to the standard we're trying to establish.

First Impression: This Is a Substantial Hoodie
The first thing you notice is the weight.
This isn't a thin, lightweight training hoodie. The Midweight Performance Hoodie feels substantial and well-built, with the kind of structure you'd expect from a premium performance piece.
The interior is soft, the hood maintains its shape, the liner graphic is fire, and the overall construction gives the hoodie a noticeably more substantial feel than a typical lightweight athletic layer.
After several months of ownership, that initial impression hasn't changed.
How It's Held Up
A product can look great when it's new. The real test is what happens after you've actually lived in it.
After repeated wear and washing, the Midweight Performance Hoodie has maintained its shape well. I haven't experienced meaningful shrinking or deterioration, and the construction has continued to feel solid.
That's important to me because durability is part of what Mayhem Performance is supposed to represent.
Performance apparel shouldn't be something you're afraid to use.
Wear it. Wash it. Train in it. Repeat.
Where It Fits Best
There is a tradeoff to the more substantial construction.
This probably isn't the hoodie I'd reach for during a high-intensity training session where I'm expecting to generate a lot of heat. It's simply too substantial for that to be its strongest use case.
Where the Midweight Performance Hoodie excels is before and after training, during warmups, on cooler days, and as an everyday performance hoodie.
That's primarily how I've found myself wearing it.
And I'd rather tell customers exactly where a product performs best than pretend every piece of apparel is perfect for every situation.
Why We Want Your Feedback
My experience is only one data point.
The people who ultimately determine whether we're meeting our standard are the athletes and customers actually wearing Mayhem Performance.
That's why customer reviews and feedback matter to us.
We're not looking for five stars simply to put five stars next to a product. We want to know what works, what doesn't, how our products hold up over time, how they fit different athletes, and where we can improve.
Your feedback allows us to raise the standard.
Every review gives us information we can use when evaluating current products and making decisions about what comes next.
If something performs exceptionally well, we want to know why.
If something could be better, we want to know that too.
Building a better product requires being willing to hear both.
The Verdict After Several Months
After owning and wearing the Midweight Performance Hoodie for several months, the things I've been most impressed with are its weight, construction, and durability.
It's substantial. It's comfortable. It has held up.
And I'm comfortable putting the Mayhem Performance name on it.
But the standard doesn't stop with what I think.
As more athletes wear our products, their experiences become part of how we evaluate what we've built—and how we make the next version better.
Mayhem Performance isn't about producing something once and declaring it finished.
It's about refinement. Repetition. Raising expectations.
Accept nothing but the best.
CONTROL THE CHAOS.
